Operation Christmas Child

Samaritan’s Purse’ is a non-denominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting  and the needy people around the world. The name of the organization is based on the New Testament Parable of the Good Samaritan, in which Jesus uses a parable to teach people one form of the Golden Rule; “love your neighbour as yourself”.

Their Project “Operation Christmas Child” aims at spreading amongst the children the noble idea of honouring their loved ones the love of Jesus in the form of gifts that gives back and to imbibe the idea of giving rather than receiving.

It was a delightful experience for our catechism students when the representatives from the Samaritan’s Purse organization distributed gifts and booklet on bible to all after the Holy Mass on 2^nd Dec,18. Gifts imported from abroad included various items ranging from pens, dress wearing, dolls, chappals, study tools and so on.

Apart from inculcating the habit of helping and giving, it was a morale booster for our children who were attending the Catechism exam at 11 AM on the same day. On behalf of the Parish, Rev Fr Ani Zachariah, OIC, thanked the representatives
