Pentecost Sunday and Jubilee greetings to Holy Spirit Sisters

“When the day of Pentecost was in full swing, they were all together, fiercely united. And a sound came unexpectedly out of Heaven, as borne of a violent wind and it filled all the house where they were sitting. Also they could see divided tongues like flames and one sat upon each of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave utterance to them (Acts 2:1-4)”

Pentecost literally means 50th. Pentecost Sunday marks the day when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles after 50 days from the resurrection of our Lord Christ.

9th June, 2019 was a remarkable day in Surat Parish wherein the Holy Spirit Sisters renewed their oath and asserted to strive to make the Holy Spirit known and loved in the world through their own lives wherever they are called to serve.

It was another coincidence that Holy Spirit Sisters are celebrating 50 years of relentless service for Christ. Rev Fr Binoy George OIC dedicated Rev Sisters and specially prayed for them in the Holy Mass and thanked for their valuable services to the community. Mr Reji Thomas, Secretary felicitated and offered jubilee greetings to them  and  Rev Sr Vimala, OSS, Rev Sr Blessy OSS, Rev Sr Mariayalit OSS and Rev Sr Soumya OSS were given gift of the parish as a token of love for which Rev Sr Vimala OSS, Superior expressed their sincere gratitude . High tea was given to all by Rev Sisters as a symbol of their affection and care.

Serving Lord and His people

 “Come Holy Spirit

Make our ears to hear

Make our eyes to see

Make our mouths to speak

Make our hearts to seek

Make our hands to reach out

And touch the world with your love”
